Nintendo DS Lite sets record for most console units sold in a month
The Nintendo DS Lite handheld has set a new record by becoming the console to sell the most units in one month. A staggering three million DS Lites were sold in December 2008 - it must have been a magical Christmas for three million kids (and
adults!). Many industry experts assumed that the Nintedos less portable console, the Wii, would break the records. The record proves that the DS Lite is still very popular with people, especially those looking for a portable console.
2008 was a great year for all consoles, beating sales by 19% over 2007. With 2009 looking to be a tough year for consumers, one wonders whether the 2008 sales will remain the best on record. With consumers eating out less, who knows, 2009 could equal or better the record-breaking 2008
